When most people decide to go on vacation, they usually start planning the trip several months in advance. Many families can only take one or two vacations a year and want to make the most of their time off which leads to lots of advanced planning. For those who have a flexible schedule or who set their own schedule, a last minute vacation can be quite an adventure.

Some people like to wait to the last minute to find a place to go on vacation. I have a few friends that prefer this method but they make the best decisions when they are under pressure and in a time crunch. Last minute vacations are not for everyone, but can certainly add a new level of adventure to the trip. One of the benefits of waiting until the last minute is getting great deals on a last minute vacation.

Waiting until the last minute can also help you decide on a destination. Finding the best deal at the last minute can leave your trip to chance. I have done this a few times (especially when shopping for a cruise) and it adds a level of excitement to your trip. Not only do you have no idea where you are going until you book your trip, you also don’t have to wait to leave.
