No matter where you go in the Caribbean there is usually a local beer to try. Some are great and others are, let’s just say they don’t taste like beer. Here are 10 beers to try the next time you’re on vacation:
- Kalik – Bahamas
- Banks – Barbados
- Stingray – Cayman Islands
- Kubuli – Dominica
- Presidente – Dominican Republic
- Dragon Stout – Jamaica
- Biere Lorraine – Martinique
- Blackbeard Ale – U.S. Virgin Islands
- Piton – St. Lucia
- Carib – Trinidad and Tobago
On the top of the list (my list) would have to be Red Stripe. If you haven’t tried Red Stripe, you don’t have to go to the Caribbean to get it. Most stores now carry Red Stripe.
Remember, it’s 5 O’clock somewhere!

2 last minute cruise deals // Nov 19, 2009 at 6:46 am
The “no call/no show” list was definitely one of the best ways to secure a deep discount on a last minute, and I do mean last minute, cruise. However, since the security changes that occured due to 9/11 it is my understanding from several of the cruiselines that the manifest now needs to closed 24 hours before a sailing. Hence, the days of waiting at the port for a no-show are over. If anyone knows this to be untrue and have secured a last minute (day of) sailing, please relay the information on so that I might once again find myself loitering at the port.
